A valuable resource for those affected by trauma, big or small

"The Healing Power of Pain is an easy-to-read guide for the heavy-hearted, a book that helps us understand the underlying causes of why we seem to be plagued by negative emotions, fears and a lack of self-esteem. Not all of us turn straight to a therapist when we experience emotional pain. We may want to read about it first and see how we can come to grips with it ourselves."

Last year, a wonderful team of inspiring women reached out to Visuality to ask support for a project that they were developing with a lot of passion and very small funding: a manual about trauma which could help people understand their pain and find their way towards a more peaceful living. Author Ybe Casteleyn had involved the talented Jill Marchant and Schnups in enriching her texts with poems and illustrations. The material they had created was so deep and meaningful that we jumped into the project without thinking twice. Our task was to create the layout of the book. A few months later, Sterker worden waar het pijn doet was self-published by Ybe, making smart use of a low budget.

The book received positive feedback from the audience, and soon after a publisher decided to help Ybe with printing the manual for a wider audience.

This year, we joined again the team to bring this project one step further: thanks to the support of Amsterdam Publishers the book was translated into English, and we got back to work to create a Kindle version of it, which is now available to the international public.
