An oceanic endeavour
Brochure publication for EuroGOOS
Visuality was contracted by Eurogoos to revamp a brochure that explains who Eurogoos is and what they do. As an international NGO, who, among many things, works towards sustainable ocean observations and fit-for-purpose products and services for marine and maritime users, this was not a simple thing to do.
Eurogoos deals with a lot of complex information, and conveying their story in a way that their audience would understand and remember was a challenge!
We began with a 4 hour visual co-creation session where we challenged the client on their story and focused primarily on WHY they are telling it, with the goal of finding a message that would stick with their audience. At the end of the session, our client could really see the value of the time we had spent working together.
Then, we took the content that had already been created for the existing brochure and literally cut, reshuffled, and pasted it to make the story compelling.
At the same time, we started to draft the content for the visual part of the brochure: icons and infographics, and agreed with our client on the overall structure of the brochure.
Once the backbone (“information structure”) was built, we gave our client homework: they were asked to adapt and write text for the parts of the story that were still incomplete (they are the experts on the subject, after all!).
In the mean time, we started designing the brochure.
After a few quick revisions, we delivered a print-ready file, and a digital version of the visuals we created, that could be integrated into Eurogoos presentations.
The client can now share their story with their target audience in a clear, interesting, and visual way that they understand and won’t forget.
