Firewall and Health: An animation for PICUM (the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants)
CLIENT: PICUM, the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants, is a network of organisations working to ensure social justice and human rights for undocumented migrants.
BACKGROUND: Not everyone has the same access to health care. If you’re undocumented, going to the doctor or the hospital could mean being detained and deported. Instead of getting help, you find yourself worse off – separated from family, torn away from your life.
So, many people avoid seeking help – until it’s too late.
In some countries, health authorities must denounce undocumented patients. Sometimes, health professionals or hospital staff mistakenly believe they should report, and there are no rules stopping them.
PROCESS: There is no animation without a good storyboard. We met in the Visual Hub at GreenBizz.Brussels with Picum’s team for a co-creation session. For 3 hours, we worked together in crafting the backbone of the animation
