We drive positive change

For real...

Everyone talks (and talks and talks…) about a better world. At Visuality, we’re done tinkering at the edges. Real action to drive positive change is at the core of our company. We’re all about co-creating a future with you that is sustainable for our planet and its inhabitants. And because we know we can’t do it all, our work focuses especially on the environment, education and equality!

To ensure LESS TALK and MORE ACTION, we:

Limit our carbon footprint

We drive electric, pedal away on our bicycles and fly as little as possible – and only if it’s really necessary. We also work in a green building where we’re surrounded by dozens of like-minded businesses.

Work with (social) entrepreneurs

We’re passionate about working with those who are creating a more sustainable, social and inclusive future, for both people and the planet. Just as Rome wasn’t built in a day, we help businesses that aren’t sustainable yet – but want to be! – get on the right track.

Commit to pro bono work

We allocate 5% of our company revenue to pro bono projects that reflect Visuality’s core values, either by doing a job totally for free or by reducing the original fee. The available amount is calculated quarterly. We also give each employee two days a year to devote to pro bono projects that they believe in.

Invest in community projects

We’re collaborating with Hommes et Terre, an amazing organisation that is reforesting sub-saharan areas and creating new agricultural zones and forests. Since planting trees helps to capture carbon, it’s in line with our goal to minimise our carbon footprint!

Build communities of practice

We initiated the creation of the European Forum of Visual Practitioners by organising co-creation sessions. We also organised the EuViz conference in the summer of 2018 and co-hosted the Leadership Festival in 2019.

Do you have a great social or sustainable project ready for our pro bono offer?

We are active members of:

Augmented Reality (AR)

What is it?

Augmented Reality is adding a digital layer on top of a printed document (graphic recording, infographic, manual…). Using your phone or your tablet you will be able to see or hear extra information like images, videos and webpages. You just need a portable machine with a camera and an internet connection.

It’s nothing new. AR applications have been around for decades. Despite all of the promise, it is only now since the rise of powerful smartphone technology that AR is ready to unleash its potential.

When to use it?

You might have noticed that the reality around is multi-layered and dynamic. Yet, most of the time we are trapped in static, single-layer, two-dimensional pages. Hence, Augmented Realiy works best on printed materials like posters, infographics, graphic recording and manualsSo, when does it makes sense to add AR to our design work:

  • You don’t have enough space to add all the information ;
  • You want extra information that is not relevant for everybody;
  • You want pictures, video, sound or webpage on a static page
  • You want to add interactivity
  • You need to update the information regularly

Hassle free!

We are convinced that Augmented Reality only contributes to a project if it is user-friendly. So, if at all possible we work with tools that:

  • Require No APP
  • Works on all phones
  • Instant appearance of the visuals
